How to measure your helmet size correctly: To find the right helmet size, measure your head circumference with a flexible tape measure.
It is important that the tape measure runs around the widest part of the head – only then will you get a correct result.
Place the tape measure at the front, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, and run it along the sides above the ears.
At the back, the tape must run over the largest part of the back of the head (not too low on the neck). The tape may run slightly at an angle – what matters is that it sits all the way around the largest points of the head.
Make sure the tape measure sits snugly but does not dig in. Measure 2–3 times for the most accurate result. You can then compare the measured value in centimetres (cm) with our size chart.
Tips for an accurate result
- Keep hair flat (e.g. do not measure over a voluminous hairstyle)
- Keep the tape horizontal, i.e. along the largest circumference
- Do not measure too loosely
- For values between two sizes:
→ usually choose the larger size (depending on helmet model / fit)
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without causing uncomfortable pressure points.
A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

The Shark Skwal Cup Speed-Tech KRA is a full-face helmet that earns its place on every ride — from the daily commute to weekend sport touring. Its striking two-tone red and anthracite graphic is paired with ECE 22.06 certification, a Pinlock-ready Optical Class 1 visor and a removable Alveotec liner, delivering serious protection and all-day comfort without asking you to spend at the top of the market.
Key Features
- ECE 22.06 certified — meets the most current and stringent European motorcycle helmet standard
- Polycarbonate shell in two shell sizes for a compact, aerodynamic fit across the full size range
- Optical Class 1 main visor: scratch-resistant, UV-treated and distortion-free, with Pinlock insert included
- Integrated drop-down sun visor operated by a thumb slider — no need to stop and swap lenses
- Alveotec antibacterial liner: fully removable and machine-washable to keep the interior fresh
- Speaker pockets pre-cut for common intercom systems, so adding connectivity is straightforward
- Double-D retention ring — the trusted, rattle-free closure system favoured by experienced riders
Shell, Safety and Weight
Shark constructs the Skwal Cup around a polycarbonate shell, a material chosen for its balance of impact resistance and accessible price point. Two shell sizes mean that a size XS or S helmet is not simply a cut-down large — the geometry is proportioned correctly for smaller head circumferences, which keeps the profile compact and aerodynamically stable at speed.
At 1,587 g (±50 g), the Skwal Cup sits comfortably in the mid-weight bracket for polycarbonate full-face helmets. That figure matters most on longer outings: a lighter helmet reduces neck fatigue over hours in the saddle, so you arrive in better shape regardless of the distance covered. ECE 22.06 homologation confirms the shell and liner system meet current European impact, penetration and retention standards.
Aerodynamics and Ventilation
The Speed-Tech KRA shell was refined in wind-tunnel testing. An integrated rear spoiler manages airflow over the helmet to reduce lift and buffeting at higher road speeds, keeping the helmet stable without requiring conscious effort from the rider. The vent system works front to back: crown intakes and a chin vent draw cool air through EPS channelling, and rear exhaust ports carry warm air away. The result is noticeably reduced heat build-up on full-summer days, which directly improves concentration on longer stages.
Visor and Visibility
The main visor is rated Optical Class 1 — the highest optical quality classification — meaning the lens introduces no detectable distortion across the visual field. It carries a scratch-resistant and UV-blocking treatment. The included Pinlock insert creates a dual-layer thermal barrier that prevents fogging in cold or wet conditions, removing one of the most common reasons riders reach for a clear-visor swap.
The built-in sun visor deploys and retracts via a side slider and is positioned so it does not obstruct peripheral vision when stowed. Both visors work with the noise-reducing perimeter seal that runs around the main aperture, keeping wind roar to a manageable level on the open road.
Comfort and Fit
The Alveotec interior padding is soft against the skin, breathable and treated to resist bacterial growth — a practical benefit for riders who cover serious daily mileage. Because the liner is fully removable and washable, maintaining hygiene across a full riding season requires nothing more than a gentle machine cycle. The chin curtain and breath deflector reduce interior turbulence and cold air ingress at the lower face. Glasses wearers will find the temple channels allow most standard frames to seat comfortably without pressure points.
Speed-Tech KRA Design
The Speed-Tech KRA colourway pairs red with anthracite in a graphic that reads as purposeful rather than decorative. The matte finish resists minor surface marks better than gloss and gives the helmet a contemporary, understated aggression that works equally well in urban traffic and on more open roads. It is a design aimed at riders who want their kit to look considered without demanding constant attention.
Size Guide
| Size | Head circumference |
|---|---|
| XS | 53–54 cm |
| S | 55–56 cm |
| M | 57–58 cm |
| L | 59–60 cm |
| XL | 61–62 cm |
| XXL | 63–64 cm |
Measure your head circumference approximately 1 cm above your ears at the widest point to identify your correct size. If you fall between two sizes, try the larger size first and assess the fit with the liner compressed over 15–20 minutes.
