Care
The curtain lives at the lowest point of the helmet and picks up sweat, dust and the odd insect. Brush it out after dusty rides and wash it by hand in lukewarm water with mild soap when it needs more. Let it dry flat at room temperature, not on a heater, so it keeps its shape.
Fitting
Look at how the old curtain is held under the chin bar before you remove it. The new one takes its place in the same position; start at the centre and work outwards so it sits evenly on both sides.
When to replace it
Replace it when the edge is frayed, when it no longer lies flat against your chin, or when it has started to flap at speed. A curtain that has lost its shape lets air in exactly where it should keep it out.
