Function
At 10.5 mm, 16 mm it fits one position only; the next size up carries a different number. Brackets and housings position the component precisely enough that it works as designed. Housing threads carry the adjusters and are the part that suffers if the adjuster is forced. A cracked bracket is a safety matter, not a cosmetic one.
