What It Is
Öhlins publishes 10 mm, 8.2 mm, 13 mm for 00805-01 — the dimensions are the identity of the part. Its length is a specification, not a filler — a millimetre changes what the unit does. Spacers are machined rather than cut, so the ends are square and the load is even. A spacer sets an internal dimension: preload on a stack, free length, or the position of a piston.
Why the Original
An original part keeps the unit within its published specification; a near-equivalent quietly moves it. Öhlins numbers every position so a workshop can order precisely what it needs, not a whole assembly. Send us the model and serial number of your unit and we will confirm the position before you order. For a full rebuild, the seal kit plus the wear parts is usually the sensible order.
Getting the Number Right
Order under 00805-01. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. dimension a 10 mm, dimension b 8.2 mm, dimension c 13 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. Circlips hold axial position under load; a sprung one lets the assembly walk. Small parts are cheap until one of them is missing on a Friday afternoon.
Fitting and Setup Service
We are an authorised Öhlins service centre, so you do not have to source the tools and the nitrogen: send us the damper and we rebuild it with the correct parts and the correct setting.
