- Öhlins part number 24629-57
Function
Öhlins gives it as 10 mm, 12 mm, 5 mm; nothing about that is approximate. Spacers are machined rather than cut, so the ends are square and the load is even. These are the parts that are easy to lose on the bench and impossible to improvise afterwards. Small parts are what hold a rebuild together — the wrong circlip or washer is enough to fail the job.
Genuine Service Part
Every part in this catalogue is one Öhlins fits itself during assembly and service. The alternative to a service part is usually a new damper, which is why this catalogue exists. For a full rebuild, the seal kit plus the wear parts is usually the sensible order. Ask us before ordering if you are unsure: a wrong part in a pressurised unit is an expensive lesson.
Identifying the Right Part
Part number 24629-57 is unambiguous; the description alone is not, because Öhlins uses similar wording across sizes. The published dimensions are dimension a 10 mm, dimension b 12 mm, dimension c 5 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. Spacers set the internal geometry of the unit, which means their length is a specification and not a filler. Stainless where corrosion matters, hardened where load matters — the choice is made per position.
Fitting and Setup Service
Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.
