DescriptionThe whole story▼
Sleeve 12/20/40, Öhlins part number 10417-11. A worn bushing lets the shaft move off centre, and the seal is the next thing to fail.
Key Features
- Inner Diameter 12 mm
- Length 40 mm
- Outer Diameter 20 mm
- Original Öhlins service part
- Öhlins part number 10417-11
What It Is
Öhlins gives it as 12 mm, 20 mm, 40 mm; nothing about that is approximate. A worn guide shows up as a knock over sharp edges. Both diameters and the length are specification rather than approximation. A bushing is a consumable and is replaced at rebuild rather than reused.
Genuine Service Part
The part is identical to what Öhlins fits in production — same supplier, same specification. Öhlins numbers every position so a workshop can order precisely what it needs, not a whole assembly. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue. For a full rebuild, the seal kit plus the wear parts is usually the sensible order.
How to Be Sure It Fits
Öhlins identifies this position by the number 10417-11 in the exploded view for the unit it belongs to. inner diameter 12 mm, outer diameter 20 mm, length 40 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. Worn bushings show up as a knock over sharp edges before they show up as a leak. Sleeves position parts axially and often set the preload on a stack.
Fitting and Setup Service
A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.
