00338-45 is the 21.95 mm, 1.78 mm, FKM 70 version — Öhlins lists each size separately. Öhlins uses seals with a spring-loaded lip so they follow the shaft as it wears. A ring that has taken a set no longer springs back and starts to weep under pressure. Nitrile, Viton and PTFE behave differently with temperature, and Öhlins picks per position.
