DescriptionThe whole story▼
Clamp washer MX 8x16x1,5, Öhlins part number 02540-09. Reservoir housings hold the gas charge and are pressure-rated accordingly.
Key Features
- Öhlins part number 02540-09
- Original Öhlins service part
Where It Sits
Öhlins publishes no separate dimension for this position, so the part number carries the identity. Housing threads carry the adjusters and are the part that suffers if the adjuster is forced. Clamps have a specified torque; over-tightening distorts the bore they hold. Mounting hardware is model-specific even where the damper body is common.
Why the Original
Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. Öhlins lists this part under its own number in the service catalogue so a workshop can order exactly what it needs. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on.
Identifying the Right Part
If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 02540-09. Where no measurement is given, the drawing position is what identifies the part. Housings carry bores for adjusters and seals; their concentricity decides whether the unit seals. Adaptor pieces let one damper body serve several mounting geometries.
Fitting and Setup Service
Fitting service parts means opening a pressurised unit. As an authorised Öhlins service centre we do that here, with the right tools and a dyno check afterwards — just ask.
