Key Features

- Dimension B 4.3 mm
- Öhlins part number 00566-40
- Original Öhlins service part
What It Is
Öhlins gives it as 172.6 mm, 4.3 mm; nothing about that is approximate. Öhlins builds click adjusters with defined detents so a setting can be written down and returned to. Adjuster housings carry seals, and a leak there empties the damper as surely as a shaft seal. Click adjusters work through a needle in a seat; the detent spring gives the clicks their feel.
Genuine Service Part
Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. The part number is the contract: it defines material, dimension and finish together. The Öhlins exploded view names the number for each position; we can look it up if you do not have it. We can check the number against the Öhlins exploded view before you order — just ask.
Identifying the Right Part
If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 00566-40. Öhlins states dimension a 172.6 mm, dimension b 4.3 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Öhlins builds click adjusters with defined detents so a setting can be written down and returned to. The needle tip is the wear part: once rounded, the first few clicks stop doing anything.
Fitting and Setup Service
We are an authorised Öhlins service centre, so you do not have to source the tools and the nitrogen: send us the damper and we rebuild it with the correct parts and the correct setting.
