Dropping an MT-09 in the paddock costs a fork leg if nothing stands between it and the ground. Enter the WAPYA410: nylon outside for elasticity, Ergal inside for strength, 200 g on the scales. It is offered in 4 colours: Black, Blue, Gold, Red. Nothing on the MT-09 has to be cut or drilled; the standard points carry the kit.

Construction
The shell of the WAPYA410 is a nylon moulding with the LighTech logo screen-printed into it. The coloured core is Ergal, light enough not to matter on the MT-09 and strong enough to hold. Because the insert is a separate item, a scuffed WAPYA410 is rebuilt rather than replaced.
How Axle Protection Works
The principle is simple and the execution is not: stand proud, give way, stay attached. The WAPYA410 puts the elastic material outside and the structural material inside. A scuffed WAPYA410 is renewed at the insert, not at the kit, which is the point.
Installation
Fitting the WAPYA410 to a MT-09 is a hand-tool job on a cold engine. Offer the WAPYA410 up before tightening anything; the MT-09 fairing line decides the final position. Colour is the only choice to make — 4 of them, Black, Blue, Gold, Red, all fitting the MT-09 the same way.
Compatibility and Installation
This listing covers the Yamaha MT-09 only; sister models carry their own part numbers. Nothing on the MT-09 has to be cut; the kit bolts to what is there.
Scope of Delivery
One WAPYA410 box covers both ends of the MT-09 — there is no separate front or rear part number. A worn WAPYA410 is renewed at the element, not at the kit.
Type Approval
No approval documentation is included with the WAPYA410. Rules differ by country; in Germany the MT-09 inspection is where this comes up. For a track-only MT-09 there is nothing to clarify.
