DescriptionThe whole story▼

A CBR 1000 RR dropped in the paddock usually loses a clutch lever before anything else. That is what the ISS201LT does for the CBR 1000 RR: 132 mm guard length of guard on the clutch side. The guard body is fixed; only the bushes vary, in 7 colours. The 999 cc CBR 1000 RR takes it on the standard bar with the matching adapter.

Key Features

  • Protects the clutch lever of the CBR 1000 RR, the side regulations usually ignore
  • Bar-end weights come off the CBR 1000 RR; nothing else does
  • The ISS201LT is a stock item, not a special order
  • 132 mm guard length — check it against your CBR 1000 RR before ordering
  • 7 bush colours, all at the same price
  • Supplied with the instructions the CBR 1000 RR fitting needs

What Is in the Box

The ISS201LT comes as a single side; order twice for the whole handlebar. Spare end caps and bushes are listed under their own numbers. Worn parts are renewed individually, which is the point of the system.

Worth Protecting Anyway

Most CBR 1000 RR levers that get replaced are clutch levers, not brake levers. LighTech uses the same carbon- and graphite-filled polymer on the ISS201LT as on the brake side. At 39.6 g it changes nothing about how the CBR 1000 RR steers.

Compatibility and Installation

LighTech's fitment for the ISS201LT is the CBR 1000 RR (2004 to 2019). Bar-end weights have to come off the CBR 1000 RR before the guard goes on.

In the Workshop

The ISS201LT goes on with the CBR 1000 RR on its stand and nothing dismantled. Check full steering lock on the CBR 1000 RR before you ride — the guard must not touch the tank or screen. If the CBR 1000 RR runs aftermarket bars, confirm the bore before ordering.

Choosing the Adapter

One thing to settle before ordering the ISS201LT: the adapter. Which adapter the CBR 1000 RR needs depends on the internal diameter of its bar tube. For this bike the adapter is KPL306, preselected as “With Adapter KPL306” in the option above. Owners of a spare KPL306 can pick “Without Adapter” instead.

Regulations and Road Use

Regulations cover the brake side; the clutch side is the rider's decision. LighTech supplies no type approval with the ISS201LT, and we claim none. On a road-registered CBR 1000 RR the fitted position is a matter for your inspection body.
