DescriptionThe whole story▼
A 373 cc machine like the RC 390 does not need much to look finished. Enter the OBT001: a 31 cm³ billet reservoir at 106 g, built to replace the original box. Anodising runs to 2 colours on the OBT001. It changes the part of the RC 390 the rider looks at most.
Key Features
- LighTech part number OBT001, listed for the KTM RC 390
- Laser-marked with the LighTech logo
- Fitting the OBT001 to the RC 390 needs hand tools only
- Finish changes the look of the RC 390, not the fit
- A stock LighTech item rather than a special order
- Reversible — the original part goes back on the RC 390 any time
Fitment and Compatibility
The listing is for the RC 390 and the years 2017 to 2026. This is not a model-specific casting — LighTech makes one reservoir and lets the mounting decide the fit.
In the Workshop
The OBT001 goes on with the RC 390 on its stand. Bleed and pressure-test the circuit on the RC 390 afterwards; this is not a cosmetic part. No permanent alteration to the RC 390 is involved.
The Case for Billet
The cheapest way to change the look of a cockpit is also the most visible. At 31 cm³ the OBT001 matches the capacity the original reservoir of the RC 390 carries. At 106 g it weighs about what the plastic original does.
Sold Separately
One thing to order alongside: the bracket. LighTech offers a front bracket (OBT008) and a rear one (OBT009), plus the OBT003 support, and all three are black only. We can advise which of the three suits your RC 390 — it takes one question.
Maintenance
Fluid darkens as it absorbs water — on the RC 390 that is now visible without tools. The OBT001 needs no maintenance of its own beyond that.
Supplied As
LighTech ships the OBT001 complete except for the mount. Packaging carries the reference, so a second order is unambiguous.
Brake System and Road Approval
On an RC 390 this component carries brake or clutch fluid under pressure. LighTech supplies no type-approval document with the OBT001, and we make no approval claim for it. Road use on the RC 390 means two steps: clarify it beforehand, test it afterwards.
