DDS Technology Explained

The Direct Damping System is a pressurised closed-cartridge concept engineered by K-Tech to address the limitations of conventional open-cartridge forks. By spring-loading the system internally, K-Tech ensures the oil remains in constant, controlled contact with the piston at all times. This eliminates the cavitation and aeration that cause the vague, inconsistent feel so often felt with standard fork internals under hard braking or high-speed compression events.

The 20 mm piston drives a large volume of oil through the 31 mm control valves with every stroke, giving the damping circuits the flow they need to react instantly. The asymmetric layout — where compression and rebound circuits operate entirely independently of one another — means adjustments made on one leg have no cross-influence on the other, allowing a level of fine-tuning that mirrors what factory race teams use.

Track-Bred, Road-Legal Precision

The kit is supplied complete with three pairs of springs from the 36-260 series, covering a meaningful range of spring rates so you can dial in the correct base tune for your weight and riding style from the outset. The required installation tools are also included, though K-Tech strongly recommends having the cartridges fitted by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre. Specialist tooling and technique are necessary to guarantee both the performance and the safety of the system.
