A Bike Built to Be Raced
The 2016 RR was produced in a run of five hundred with forged Marchesini wheels, a lightened crankcase and a cylinder head machined to accept race camshafts. Kawasaki did not expect these to be commuters, and a race cluster is simply the owner agreeing with that.
Six World Titles
Between 2015 and 2020 the ZX-10R won World Superbike every year. That record is why this generation is still bought, still raced and still supported, and it is the reason parts for a nine-year-old motorcycle continue to be manufactured.
What Removing Buttons Achieves
Not weight. The gain is spacing: with the indicator and horn positions gone, the remaining controls sit further apart and can be identified by counting from the top of the stack without looking down.
Works With the Factory Loom
No racing harness and no aftermarket dashboard are required. Kawasaki's own connector is used and the standard ECU handles the switch, so the rider aids continue to function exactly as delivered.
Sealed Against the Paddock
Sealed switch elements inside a one-piece milled body. Race machines are cleaned hot, transported damp and stored in vans between meetings, and water ingress is what ends most switchgear in that setting.
Three Finishes
Black, red and titanium. On a bike in Kawasaki's racing green wearing a number board, black is the usual choice.
Which Bike You Actually Have
Kawasaki sold the R and the RR alongside each other, and from a distance they are hard to separate. The RR has a single seat, forged Marchesini wheels and a different frame sticker. The switch fits both, but knowing which is which matters for everything else.
