DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES KIT04 combines the solenoid eliminator and the cylinder head cover for the Panigale 1199 S, so the panel stays clear and nothing plastic is left bolted to the engine.
Key Features
- Ducati Panigale 1199 S (2012–2015)
- Both halves of the secondary air deletion
- Solenoid eliminator and cylinder head cover
- One part number, one fitting session
- No drilling and no splicing
- Every standard part refits afterwards
A Hundred and Eighty-Eight Kilograms
Wet, essentially the same as the standard bike. The difference between the two is entirely in how they behave rather than in what they weigh.
What Is Actually Removed
Solenoid, wiring stub, reed housing, the hose between them and the clips. Four items and their fasteners leave the motorcycle.
The Diagnostic Current
The controller pulses the circuit and measures what comes back. The connector's resistance sits inside the window it expects, so it reports normal.
The Warning That Starts It
Most owners come to this after a fault appears on a cold morning. The lamp is the solenoid; the cracked reed behind it is usually the actual cause.
What the Kit Contains
A potted connector that answers the controller and a machined blank that closes the cylinder head. Nothing else is needed except a plug for the airbox port.
Why Not Just a Bolt
Improvised blanks lose their seal within a season of heat cycling, and the leak is small enough that nobody notices for a long time.
Why Half a Job Fails
Unplugging the solenoid stores a fault that then masks everything else on the panel. Blanking the head alone leaves the lamp exactly where it was. Only both halves together produce a motorcycle with a clean dashboard and nothing left to fail.
The Electrical Half in Detail
A passive resistance inside a potted body with Ducati's own connector moulded on, presenting the value the controller expects from a healthy solenoid winding. Nothing is powered, nothing is generated and nothing can drift, which is what a part living next to a cylinder head needs to be.
Both Cylinder Heads
Twins and V4s carry an assembly on each head. A kit covers what the motorcycle needs, but the access does not: the rear bank is always the harder one, and planning the evening around that rather than around the front cylinder is what keeps the job to a single session.
