DescriptionThe whole story▼

On the Aprilia RSV4 RR, the JP ACCGP AP009 shortens throttle travel to sixty degrees while adding a progressive return spring the standard GP throttle does not carry. The spring builds resistance as the grip opens further, giving the V4's last few degrees a more deliberate, less twitchy feel at a closed-course pace.

Key Features

  • Aprilia RSV4 RR (2017–2020)
  • GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
  • Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
  • CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
  • Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
  • Standard throttle assembly refits at any time

A V4 Built for the Top of the Range

The RSV4 RR's four-cylinder engine makes its case above mid-range revs, where the power delivery steepens quickly. Riders who push the bike toward that zone notice how much throttle precision matters there, since a small movement of the wrist translates into a large change in drive.

A Spring That Builds, Not Snaps

Unlike a linear spring that returns at one constant rate, this one stiffens progressively as the throttle opens further, so the last portion of the stroke resists more than the first. That curve suits riders who open the throttle in stages rather than in one motion.

Low and Compact on the Bike

The RSV4 RR puts the rider low behind the screen with weight forward over the front wheel, a layout built around corner speed rather than comfort. Throttle inputs made from that crouch benefit from a shorter, more defined stroke that does not ask for extra wrist rotation.

Sensor Untouched, Housing Unchanged

The electronic throttle position sensor and its wiring stay exactly as fitted at the factory; only the mechanical cam inside the housing is replaced. Nothing about the bike's throttle mapping or diagnostics needs to be reprogrammed beyond the usual reset after fitting.

Where Superbike Riders Spend Their Time

Owners of this generation RSV4 tend to split their time between fast road riding and the occasional track day, both of which ask for consistent, repeatable throttle response rather than outright comfort. A shorter stroke with a progressive spring suits that pattern better than a one-size setting.

Plug and Play for This Chassis

The throttle is built to the RSV4 RR's own housing dimensions and cable or sensor routing, so fitting does not involve modifying the fairing or switchgear. A diagnostic reset of the throttle position afterwards is the standard final step before the bike is ridden.
