The Off-Road Case for a Shorter Throttle
The R is the 1190 variant actually ridden off tarmac, and a reduced throttle action matters more standing on the pegs, where wrist rotation is already limited, than seated on a road. That is why this conversion turns up on R models more than on the base bike.
A Fixed Point for Displaced Controls
Once the quick throttle takes the place of the stock assembly, the switchblock it carried needs somewhere permanent to sit. This housing bolts to the new throttle body, keeping horn and indicator functions exactly where a thumb expects to find them.
Solid Metal, Not a Casting
A CNC-machined Ergal billet holds tighter tolerances around the switch cavities than die-cast alternatives typically achieve, and the bronze anodising applied after machining becomes part of the surface rather than a coating that can wear through on a dropped bike.
Wiring Left Exactly as KTM Built It
The loom plugs straight into the factory connector, so nothing on the bike's original wiring is cut or re-terminated, and a later change of plan leaves the stock harness untouched, which matters to an owner who may eventually sell the bike back into standard road trim.
