DescriptionThe whole story▼
The upper side panels flank the tank where a rider's knees go, which makes them the only bodywork on the motorcycle with a permanent job beyond looking right. They take the load every time you brace against the tank under braking, and they are the panels most likely to be gripped by a boot heel when the bike is manoeuvred in a garage.
Key Features
- Set of upper side fairing panels, left and right, direct replacement
- Available in 200 Plain and in 245 Twill
- Autoclave-cured laminate, stiff under knee pressure where the original flexes
- Original mounting points and fasteners
- Raw carbon is the lightest and least expensive configuration
Panels You Actually Touch
Most bodywork is structural only in the sense that it holds its own shape. These two are different: they are a contact surface for the rider, and a panel that gives under a knee changes how planted the motorcycle feels under hard braking, in a small way that is nonetheless noticeable.
A cured laminate is stiffer than the moulded original at the same thickness, which is the one place on this motorcycle where carbon does something a rider can feel rather than only see. It is not a large effect and it would be dishonest to sell it as one, but it is real.
Fitment and Compatibility
Ducati Streetfighter V4, model years 2020 to 2022. The 2023 update changed these panels, and the 2023-2024 machines take a separate article.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. Treat it as replacement bodywork and confirm the position for your own registration before road use.
Finish Where a Knee Grips
Textile riding trousers against lacquer is the exact combination that produces fine scratching over a season, and clear coat shows it first. This is a panel where a beautiful finish will need attention to stay beautiful.
Matt is the practical answer and hides both scratching and dust. Twill in raw is the choice for a motorcycle ridden hard, because the coarser weave gives a little more grip against a knee than a smooth lacquered surface and there is no coating to wear through. Satin remains the compromise for owners who want depth without constant care.
