DescriptionThe whole story▼
Two shaped covers that follow the outer faces of the swingarm, where the aluminium is closest to the chain on one side and to the rider's heel on the other. This is the part of a motorcycle that collects chain fling, gravel and boot marks, and on the S1000R none of it is hidden behind a fairing.
Key Features
- Set of swingarm guards for both outer faces
- Six versions, including raw and twill satin alongside the usual weaves
- Autoclave-cured laminate following the swingarm profile
- Original fixing points, swingarm not drilled or modified
- Protects the anodised finish where chain lubricant is thrown
Why Raw Makes Sense Here
Raw carbon is the laminate without a lacquer layer over it. On a fairing panel that is a slightly risky choice, because the surface is exposed and the texture is what you get. On a swingarm guard it is exactly right: the part lives at wheel height, it will be hit by grit, and the deep visible weave of a raw finish does not show fine scratching the way a polished lacquer surface does.
Twill satin is the opposite argument on the same part — a controlled sheen that stays consistent regardless of light angle, for an owner who wants the rear of the motorcycle to look considered rather than functional.
Fitment and Compatibility
BMW S1000R, model years 2013 to 2020, on the original fixing points. The same set is listed for the S1000RR of 2009 to 2018, which uses the same swingarm. The 2021 machine has a revised swingarm and takes different guards.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. Treat it as replacement trim and confirm the position for your own registration before road use.
Cleaning, Honestly
Chain lubricant gets everywhere behind a sprocket, and no guard changes that. What changes is what you are cleaning: lacquered carbon wipes with the same product used on the rest of the motorcycle, raw carbon wants a soft brush rather than a cloth, and anodised aluminium underneath stays untouched either way.
