DescriptionThe whole story▼
The radiator on an XDiavel is large, because a 1262 cc twin in a low-slung chassis has to reject a lot of heat in slow traffic. It is also very visible from the side, sitting in the open where a faired motorcycle would hide it. This set puts carbon on both sides of it.
Key Features
- Left and right covers supplied as a set under one order code
- Five configurations across 200 Plain and 245 Twill, including raw
- Protects the radiator core edges from stone strike without blocking airflow
- Moulded to the original shape, so the cooling aperture is unchanged
- Uses the original mounting points and fasteners
Cover, Not Blank
There is an important distinction between a radiator cover and a radiator blank. These are covers: they follow the outer frame of the radiator and leave the core open to airflow. Nothing about the cooling capacity of the motorcycle changes when they are fitted, which is the answer to the obvious question about putting carbon near a radiator on a heavy twin.
What they do add is edge protection. Radiator cores are soft, and a stone that reaches the outer rows bends fins that then restrict flow permanently. A cover along the exposed edge is cheap insurance on a motorcycle that sits this low to the road.
Fitment and Compatibility
Ducati XDiavel and XDiavel S, 2016 to 2024. Set of two, fitted with the original hardware. Check for existing fin damage before fitting — a cover does not repair what is already bent.
Road Approval
No ABE and no EC type-approval is published by Fullsix for this set. These are cosmetic and protective covers that do not alter cooling; confirm the position for your registration before road use.
Airflow, Verified by Shape
If you want to satisfy yourself that these covers do not restrict cooling, hold one against the radiator before bolting it on. The aperture is the aperture: the carbon follows the outer frame and the core sits open behind it, exactly as with the parts being replaced.
The XDiavel has a substantial cooling system because a big twin in a low chassis needs one, and anything that genuinely reduced its capacity would show up as a temperature gauge climbing in traffic. These do not, because they cover no part of the core.
