DescriptionThe whole story▼

The plate holder carries the registration plate, its illumination and, depending on the market, the rear reflector. It replaces the long factory assembly with a shorter carbon one.

Key Features

  • Number plate holder in autoclave carbon
  • 200 Plain weave, clear coat, matt, satin or raw
  • Around 225 grams, mounts on the original subframe points
  • Shortens the overhang behind the rear wheel
  • Fits the Multistrada 1200 and the 950

The Part In This Range That Needs the Most Care

Everything about a plate holder is regulated: the height and angle of the plate, the illumination of its surface, the presence and position of the rear reflector, and how far the whole assembly sits from the wheel. The rules differ by country and they are enforced.

Fullsix supplies the holder. It does not supply an approval, and it cannot know which market the bike is registered in. Anyone fitting this part is taking on the job of getting the plate, the light and the reflector into a legal position, and of proving it if asked.

Fitment and Compatibility

Ducati Multistrada 1200, model years 2015 to 2017, on the original subframe mounting points. The original plate light is reused unless local rules require otherwise.

Road Approval

Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part, and this is the article where that matters most. In Germany a plate holder without a Teilegutachten or ABE is not registrable on its own: clarify the position with your inspection authority before fitting. The same caution applies in every market with a technical inspection regime.

Fitting

Transfer the plate light and check it actually illuminates the plate surface rather than the air beside it. Check the reflector is present and visible from behind. Then look at the plate angle: a holder that tilts the plate too far back is a common and avoidable fail.

Ride it once at low speed over a bump and watch that nothing touches the tyre at full compression.
