DescriptionThe whole story▼

Two shaped panels that clip over the outer faces of the main frame spars, in the gap between the tank and the rider's boot. On a faired superbike this is one of the few structural surfaces left visible, and on an M1000RR it is the surface a photographer's lens finds when the bike is shot from the side.

Key Features

  • Left and right frame covers, supplied as a set
  • Four versions in 245 Twill: clear coat, matt, raw or twill satin
  • Autoclave-cured laminate following the frame section closely
  • Original fixing points, frame not drilled or modified
  • Listed by the manufacturer for the 2023-2024 model

Protection, Not Only Appearance

A boot heel rests against this area under braking, and a set of leathers with a sliding plate on the outside of the calf will mark an anodised frame over a season of track use. These covers take that contact instead. Replacing a scuffed carbon panel is a straightforward purchase; refinishing a frame spar is not.

They also cover the wiring and hose runs that thread along the inside of the frame, which is the untidiest part of an otherwise obsessively finished motorcycle.

Fitment and Compatibility

BMW M1000RR, model years 2023 and 2024, on the original fixing points. The manufacturer lists this article for that model run only; the 2025 machine is not named. We have not extended the fitment on a guess.

Road Approval

Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. Treat it as replacement trim and confirm the position for your own registration before road use.

Twill Satin Beside an Anodised Frame

The frame on this motorcycle has a low, even sheen. Clear-coated carbon next to it reads as a different class of object, which some owners want and others do not. Twill satin sits at almost exactly the same light level as the anodising, and it is the version to choose for a machine that should look like one piece rather than a collection of upgrades.
