Build Quality and Technology

BST's Mamba 7 TEK represents a new generation of specification within the BST carbon wheel family. The rim is constructed from pre-preg carbon fibre — layers of resin-impregnated fibre pre-cut and cured under heat and pressure for consistent, void-free laminate quality. This process is the same technology used in motorsport and aerospace applications, ensuring that each rim meets the same structural standard as the last.

The hub is machined from 6082 T6 aluminium, chosen for its excellent machinability, corrosion resistance and high yield strength. The interface between carbon rim and aluminium hub is engineered to precise tolerances, preventing micro-movement under the extreme cornering and braking loads that a machine like the RSV4 generates.

Road and Track Performance

Reducing rotating mass has a disproportionate effect on a motorcycle's dynamics compared with reducing static weight. Lighter wheels require less energy to accelerate and decelerate, which means the engine, brakes and suspension all work more efficiently. On the road, this translates to more instinctive steering and a more communicative ride.
