What a noise damper does and does not do
A damper drops the static reading taken at the exhaust outlet, which is what a circuit measures at the gate. It is not a road approval and it does not change the type approval of the exhaust system. Circuits across Europe set their own limits — 95, 98 or 105 dB depending on the venue and the day — and a damper is the difference between being turned away and riding.
No published figure for this one
Akrapovic publishes a measured result for some of its dampers and not for others. For V-TUV111, which covers the 2019 to 2026 RR and R models, the manufacturer states 4 dB and a resulting 104.8 dB. For V-TUV305 it states nothing at all.
We will not carry the V-TUV111 figure over. The two dampers cover overlapping but different model ranges and different years, and a decibel figure is the kind of number that has to be measured rather than assumed. If a circuit has given you a specific limit to meet, contact us before ordering and we will ask Akrapovic directly.
Two dampers, overlapping ranges
V-TUV111 covers the RR and R from 2019; this one covers the XR, RR and R from 2021. Where they overlap, the difference is which exhaust system is fitted rather than which motorcycle. Akrapovic does not publish that mapping, so if both look plausible for your bike, ask before ordering.
