Design and Finish

The header carries the hallmarks of Akrapovic's manufacturing philosophy: clean weld beads, consistent tube geometry and a polished stainless finish that ages gracefully under race conditions. Unlike aftermarket headers that treat finish as an afterthought, every section of the E-Y6R5 reflects the same attention to detail found on the full Evolution and Racing Line systems. It is a component that looks as purposeful mounted beneath a YZF-R6 fairing as it does on the workshop bench.

Performance and Sound

The 4-2-1 configuration is the result of Akrapovic's development work on the YZF-R6 platform across multiple racing seasons. By pairing this header with either a Carbon or Titanium Akrapovic slip-on silencer, riders unlock a sound profile and performance character that a slip-on alone cannot achieve. The mid-range torque benefit is particularly noticeable on the R6's high-revving inline-four, making corner exits noticeably more responsive. ECU remapping is strongly recommended to ensure fuelling is matched to the improved exhaust flow.
