DescriptionThe whole story▼
Ceramic racing pads on an electric naked bike are a statement of intent. Accossato's ZXC compound in the AGPA92 shape fits the front of the Zero SR from 2015 to 2017, the ZF12.5 and ZF13.0 generation. It is meant for an SR that has left commuting behind and now wears a transponder, lives in a van between events and gets its brakes checked in a pit box rather than a driveway.
Key Features
- AGPA92 front pads for the Zero SR 2015-2017
- Listed for the ZF12.5 and ZF13.0 versions
- ZXC ceramic racing compound
- Called a ceramic mix ideal for racing by Accossato
- For competition and dedicated track bikes
- Same pad in OR, ST, EV1 and EV2 too
- Two pads per box
Construction and Material Quality
Ceramic and ideal for racing: that is Accossato's own characterisation of ZXC. The recipe is designed to do its job in the heat of a circuit, where the front brake is squeezed hard several times per lap. The company also aims to keep temperatures in check, which keeps fade at bay when a session drags on. On a cold road, a pad bred for the track gives a more hesitant first bite, so this is not the version for a machine that doubles as transport.
Pit Box Routine with Ceramic Pads
Between two sessions there is often less than an hour, and the brakes are one of the first things a mechanic checks. With ZXC pads on the SR, start by looking through the caliper opening at the remaining material, then inspect the disc surface for fine cracks or blue patches. Ask the rider how the lever behaved at the end of the run: did the bite stay the same, did the travel grow? Those answers decide whether fluid, lever position or brake markers need attention. Keep the pads away from spilled fluid and oily rags on the bench, and handle a new set only by its edges. A last pump of the lever before the bike leaves the box is a habit worth never skipping.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's sheet places ZXC AGPA92 on the front of the SR ZF12.5 of 2015 and the ZF13.0 of 2016 and 2017. For the later SR generations, 2019 to 2022 and 2024, the front pad changes to AGPA96, while AGPP91 remains the rear option. Two pads make one caliper; fit them together and bed them in fully during practice before any timed session.
Road Approval
Accossato has given us no ABE or test paperwork for ZXC, so these ceramic pads are sold purely for racing.
Scope of Delivery
Two ZXC ceramic pads, enough to refit one front caliper.
