DescriptionThe whole story▼
The CRF450X is Honda's enduro version of its 450 platform, a machine that often ends up doing double duty as a trail tourer, carrying a tail pack and riding in every kind of weather. This article fits the front caliper of the CRF450X built from 2005 to 2024 and uses the AGPA51 shape in Accossato's Sintered (ST) mixture. It is aimed at owners who ride all year, who meet rain, wet leaves and cold starts, and who want a lever that feels the same in November as it does in June.
Key Features
- Front brake pads for the Honda CRF450X, 2005 to 2024
- Article AGPA51ST: AGPA51 shape, Sintered compound
- Accossato quotes high, even grip whether the pads are cold or hot
- Designed to keep working when the disc is soaked
- Suits year-round trail riding and multi-day loops with luggage
- One box fits the single front caliper of the CRF450X
- Alternatives on the same shape: OR, STMX and EV1
- No ABE in our files; intended for competition and closed tracks
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes the ST mixture as one that holds a high and steady grip level across a wide temperature range and still bites properly on a wet disc. That consistency is its whole point. The rider does not have to relearn the brake after a stream crossing or a long cold descent; the pull needed for a given amount of retardation stays close to constant. Accossato also cites a long life, modest wear, strong stopping power and heat kept in check to limit fade.
Four Seasons on One Set
Riders who keep the CRF450X taxed and on the move through winter know how much the front brake changes with weather. Grey slush, road salt near the trailheads and damp mornings all test a pad. ST is the version made for that kind of calendar. It also copes with the extra load of a loaded bike on a long route, when a tail bag and fuller tank ask more of each stop, and it keeps the lever point predictable over a whole day in the hills.
Care is still worth the effort. Rinse grit from the caliper after muddy outings, check both pads and the disc surface regularly, and replace brake fluid on schedule. Fit new pads in pairs, pump the lever until pressure returns and bed them in progressively.
Fitment and Compatibility
This set covers the front of the Honda CRF450X for model years 2005 through 2024. At the rear, the CRF450X takes Accossato's AGPP72, and the company offers the DK012, DK036, DK107 and DK263 discs for the same bike. Compare the backing shape with the pads you remove.
Road Approval
We have no German approval paperwork or test mark for the AGPA51ST. It is sold for racing and sporting events away from public traffic.
Scope of Delivery
Two AGPA51 pads with the ST compound, a complete set for one caliper.
