DescriptionThe whole story▼

A middleweight roadster gets used for more than its riding position suggests. Strap a bag to the pillion seat of a CFMOTO NK 800, put somebody on the back and point it at a mountain road, and the front brake has a very different afternoon ahead of it than the one it has in town. For the NK 800 of 2024 to 2026 Accossato presses the AGPA96 outline in the Sintered material, article AGPA96ST, a mixture the firm credits with a grip level that stays high and constant hot or cold, and that keeps working when the faces are wet.

Key Features

  • Front brake pads for the CFMOTO NK 800, 2024 to 2026
  • AGPA96ST: the AGPA96 outline pressed in the Sintered material
  • Accossato promises a constant grip level across high and low temperatures
  • Wet weather belongs to the design brief for this material
  • One box, two pads, the amount a single caliper takes
  • The same outline is also pressed in OR, EV1, EV2 and ZXC
  • For the rear wheel Accossato lists the AGPA29, 2024 to 2026
  • No German ABE documented; sold for track and competition use

Construction and Material Quality

The steel behind the friction layer is the same on every AGPA96; the choice you make is the layer itself. Accossato's account of the Sintered version is short. It should deliver a high level of grip that does not wander with temperature, from a cold first pull to a disc that has been working hard for half a dozen bends, and it should go on doing that with water running across it. For a rider who cannot choose the weather on a weekend that was booked a month ago, that steadiness is the whole point.

Two Up on a Wet Pass

Climbing a pass costs the brakes very little. The descent is where they earn their money, and the arithmetic changes once there is a passenger and a bag on the back: more weight transfers to the front wheel at every hairpin, and the gaps between corners are too short for much heat to escape. Riders who do this often settle into a pattern. They stay a gear lower than on the way up so the engine takes a share of the work, pull the lever in short decisive applications before each bend instead of trailing it all the way down, and stop at a layby if the feel at the lever starts to change.

Rain adds a film that has to be wiped off the disc before anything happens at all, which is exactly the condition this material is drawn up for. It also changes the housekeeping. Grit thrown up on a wet pass ends up on the caliper, so a rinse before the next inspection is worth the trouble, and a new set of pads deserves a handful of firm applications on a dry stretch before they are trusted with two people on board.

Fitment and Compatibility

For the NK 800 the AGPA96 covers the 2024, 2025 and 2026 seasons. Accossato also lists the AGPA106 at the front of this bike, but only for 2024, so a machine from that year needs a glance into the caliper before the order goes in; from 2025 the AGPA96 is the front article in the range. The AGPA29 serves the rear wheel over the whole run, where one box feeds the single caliper. Pads are sold by the caliper, two to a box, and both sides of an axle belong on the bench together.

Road Approval

Neither a German ABE nor any test documentation is on record here for the AGPA96ST, so we list the pads for competition and closed-course use only.

Scope of Delivery

Two AGPA96 pads in the Sintered material, boxed as the set for one caliper.
