DescriptionThe whole story▼
Replacing a clutch lever on a YZ450F without a trip to the dealer is one of the easier ways a racer keeps running costs under control between meetings. Accossato's AGS294 is a silver clutch lever in the original form, listed for the YZ450F across its long 2009 to 2022 run.
Key Features
- Clutch lever in the original form for the Yamaha YZ450F
- Accossato lists the AGS294 from 2009 to 2022
- Silver finish
- Left-hand side of the handlebar
- An original spare parts type, priced for repairs rather than tuning
- Accossato reports better resistance after damage or a fall
- One lever supplied
- No German ABE or test mark on file; listed for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
Nothing about the AGS294 tries to improve on what Yamaha already fitted to the YZ450F; Accossato's original spare parts type exists precisely to copy that shape and sell it at the price of an ordinary repair. The company's claim for the whole range, not just this one part, is that the way these levers are manufactured leaves them tougher after they have already been damaged. Silver is the only finish this fitment is offered in, and no further detail about the material is published anywhere.
A Spare Worth Keeping in the Van
Missing a moto because a cheap lever is sitting in a courier's van somewhere is the kind of mistake a seasoned YZ450F racer only makes once, which is why most vans towing one of these to a meeting carry a small box of cheap, high-failure parts rather than relying on next-day delivery. Clean the pivot and the bearing point and work in a light film of grease before fitting the AGS294, then check the cable's free play against the handbook rather than trusting it by feel alone.
Fitment and Compatibility
This clutch lever also covers the WR250F, the YZ125, the YZ250, the YZ250F and the YZ250X in our range. The brake side of this YZ450F takes either the AGD112 or the newer AGD224 depending on the exact year, and the AGS130 is an alternative clutch lever code for the earlier years of this model. A tuning option for this fitment is listed under B8265 and C7266.
Road Approval
Accossato supplies no approval documents for the AGS294, so no German ABE and no test mark apply to it, and the lever is listed for racing and competition use rather than the public road.
Scope of Delivery
