DescriptionThe whole story▼

An older YZ450F from early in this model's history takes a different brake lever code than the newer bikes wearing the same name, and getting that wrong is an easy mistake when ordering parts from memory rather than checking the exact year. Accossato's AGD112 is a silver front brake lever in the original form, covering the YZ450F from 2003 to 2016.

Key Features

  • Front brake lever in the original form for the Yamaha YZ450F
  • Accossato lists the AGD112 from 2003 to 2016
  • Silver finish
  • Right-hand side of the handlebar
  • An original spare parts type, priced as a repair rather than a tuning part
  • Accossato states increased resistance after damage or a collision
  • One lever supplied
  • No German ABE or test mark on file; listed for racing and competition

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato's original spare parts type covers exactly this kind of job: the AGD112 matches the brake lever this earlier YZ450F already wore from the factory, so a repair after a crash leaves nothing different to adjust to at the bar. The company states that its manufacturing process makes the finished lever tougher once it has already taken damage, and the whole range is priced for a routine repair rather than a tuning upgrade. Silver is the only finish quoted, and nothing further about the material is released.

Two Codes, One Model Name

A rider ordering a brake lever for a YZ450F by model name alone risks the wrong part turning up, since Accossato splits this bike's history into an earlier run covered by the AGD112 and a later one covered by the newer AGD224. Checking the actual build year against the bike's frame number avoids that mix-up. Fit the AGD112 with the pivot cleaned and lightly greased, then confirm the brake finds a firm point at a standstill before the bike goes back on the track.

Fitment and Compatibility

This brake lever also fits several other Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki motocrossers in our range built around the same bar fitting. The clutch side of this earlier YZ450F takes the AGS130, and the newer AGS294 covers a different, later span of years instead. A tuning option for this fitment is listed under B8265 and C7266.

Road Approval

No approval paperwork reached us with the AGD112, so no German ABE and no test mark can be quoted for it, and the lever is listed for racing and competition use.
