DescriptionThe whole story▼
A big touring cruiser like the XVS1300A Midnight Star is heavier than it looks to catch once it starts leaning too far on a slick forecourt, and the front brake lever usually loses that argument first. Accossato's AGD124 is a silver lever in the original form, listed for the Midnight Star across 2007 to 2016.
Key Features
- Front brake lever in the original form for the Yamaha XVS1300A Midnight Star
- Accossato lists the AGD124 from 2007 to 2016
- Silver finish
- Right-hand side of the handlebar
- An original spare parts type, priced for repairs rather than tuning
- Accossato reports better resistance after damage or a fall
- One lever supplied
- No German ABE or test mark on file; listed for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's original spare parts type exists for exactly this kind of job: a lever priced for a routine repair, built to the outline the Midnight Star already carried rather than anything novel. With the AGD124 fitted there is nothing different to feel at the bar compared with the lever it replaces. The firm also states that its manufacturing process leaves the finished part tougher once damage has already been done, and the only finish quoted for this fitment is silver, with no further detail on the material released.
Heavier Than It Looks at a Standstill
A fully fuelled XVS1300A Midnight Star is a lot of bike to hold up once the balance starts to go, and most owners eventually lose that battle at a petrol station or a sloped driveway rather than on the open road. Checking the brake lever for a bend after any such moment is worth doing before the next ride, since a lever that still moves is not automatically one that is still straight. Fit the AGD124 with the pivot cleaned and lightly greased, then confirm the brake finds a firm point at a standstill.
Fitment and Compatibility
On the clutch side, this same Midnight Star takes the AGS213 for the identical span of years, so a rider replacing both levers after one low-speed drop needs that code as well as this one. Accossato does not currently list a tuning version of either lever for this cruiser in our range, which means the choice here is simply between leaving the damage or fitting the correct original-form replacement.
Road Approval
No approval paperwork was supplied with the AGD124, so no German ABE and no test mark can be quoted for it, and the lever is listed for racing and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
