DescriptionThe whole story▼
Riding schools and first-time riders like small, manageable motorcycles, and BMW's G 310 R, a single-cylinder roadster listed here from 2016 to 2023, fits that description well. Learning means slow exercises: a slalom between cones, a tight figure of eight, stopping exactly on a line. At walking pace, a moment of hesitation is enough for the bike to lean too far, and the brake lever is usually the first part to touch the tarmac. Accossato's AGD287 is a black replacement brake lever in original form for the G 310 R, designed as a spare that offers good value for money.

Construction and Material Quality
On a training bike, the controls should stay as the learner knows them, which is why a replacement of the original type is the natural choice. The AGD287 keeps the standard form of the brake lever on the G 310 R. Accossato designed it for good value for money and describes its production process as giving the lever higher resistance after damage or impacts. It is black, as Accossato lists it for this bike, and Accossato provides no further data.
On the Training Ground
Tip-overs in the first lessons are a normal part of learning, so it makes sense for a school to keep a few spare levers in the office. The routine after a fall is the same every time. Switch off the engine, lift the bike with a straight back and bent knees, put it on its stand and check the right-hand side: brake lever, mirror, indicator, footpeg. A lever that is bent gets replaced, not straightened, even if the next lesson starts in ten minutes. On the G 310 R the swap is quick: pivot out, old lever off, pivot and bore cleaned and lightly greased, new lever on. Before the learner rides again, the instructor checks that the brake light works when the lever is pulled and that the pressure point is firm with the bike at rest. It is also a good moment to explain why a small fall matters: the lever is part of the brake.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato gives the AGD287 for the G 310 R from 2016 to 2023, listing the ABS version, and names no second replacement brake lever for it. We list the same lever for the G 310 GS, the adventure-styled model built around the same single-cylinder engine. Before ordering, compare the photo with the lever on your G 310 R, and if you run a fleet of training bikes, check that all of them use the same lever before stocking up.
Road Approval
We have no German ABE and no test mark for this lever, because no approval documents have been made available to us. We list the AGD287 for racing and competition.
