DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Yamaha XSR 125 is a retro-styled single-cylinder learner bike, and for many riders it is their first motorcycle, ridden to school, college or work in all kinds of traffic. For the XSR 125 from 2022 to 2026, Accossato lists its AGPA170 front pad in the Organic (OR) compound, the only compound listed for this pad. It suits new riders and urban commuters who want a gentle, predictable front brake that is easy to control and kind to the disc.

Key Features

  • AGPA170 front pad, Organic (OR) compound
  • For the Yamaha XSR 125, 2022 to 2026
  • Gentle, easily controlled front brake
  • Accossato: lasting performance and low disc wear
  • Quiet in town
  • One box for the single front caliper
  • Organic is the only listed compound for AGPA170

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato describes its Organic compound as offering longer performance and limiting disc wear. For a learner bike used daily, those are practical priorities that keep running costs low.

A Brake for New Riders

New riders are still learning how hard they can squeeze the front brake. A pad that comes in gradually, rather than snatching, gives them time to feel what is happening at the front tyre and to build confidence. On an XSR 125 in town, an organic pad makes the many small stops of city riding smooth and predictable. It works straight away on a cold morning and makes little noise. Riding schools and instructors generally prefer this kind of forgiving front brake for learners, because it rewards smooth technique and makes mistakes less dramatic.

Looking After the Brake

New riders should check pad thickness regularly and learn to look at the brake fluid level in the reservoir. A workshop can show you what to look for at the first service.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPA170 for the XSR 125 from 2022 to 2026. The rear pad for the same bike is AGPP99. The XSR 125 has a single front caliper, so one box is enough. If you are changing pads yourself, clean the pistons before retracting them, check the disc and fluid, and pump the lever until it is firm before riding. Bed the new pads in with gentle stops on a quiet road.

Road Approval

We do not hold a German ABE or test mark for this pad. It is offered for racing and competition use.
