DescriptionThe whole story▼

Yamaha's twin-cylinder MT-03 is one of the bikes many riders pick for their A2 licence years, and it spends a great deal of time in towns and on short hops. Accossato's AGPA243 front pad in Organic (OR) compound is meant for that everyday life. Accossato says the organic mix gives lasting performance and keeps disc wear down. Its listing covers the MT-03 from 2016 to 2026, which includes the updated versions of recent years.

Key Features

  • Organic (OR) compound, Accossato front pad AGPA243
  • Yamaha MT-03, 2016-2026
  • Accossato: durable performance, reduced disc wear
  • Gentle, easy-to-learn front brake response
  • Little noise in town traffic
  • Two pads per box, which covers the single front caliper
  • AGPA243 also comes as ST, EV1 and ZXC

Construction and Material Quality

According to Accossato, the organic mix is built to keep delivering for a long time and to leave more of the disc behind. For an A2 bike that may pass through several owners, that is worth having. The company's broader goals for every pad are part of the deal too: modest wear, heat held down so fade stays away, and strong stopping when you really need it.

The A2 Years

The first years on a bigger bike are when braking technique is built. On an MT-03, a new rider learns to squeeze the front lever progressively rather than grab it, and a pad that responds in proportion to the squeeze makes that lesson much easier. The organic compound is designed for exactly that kind of predictable build-up, even on a cold morning. Because most MT-03 riding happens in town, the quiet operation is welcome as well. Once the rider starts heading for twisty roads at a quicker pace, EV1 is the next step; for wet commuting all year, ST.

Fitment and Compatibility

AGPA243 is listed by Accossato for the front of the MT-03 from 2016 to 2026; for the rear, AGPP254 applies. Accossato also lists the DK077 and DKS073 discs for this bike. The MT-03 has one front disc and one caliper, so a single box does the job. Wipe the pistons clean before pushing them back, check disc thickness and fluid level, pump the lever to a firm feel and give the pads a gentle bedding-in.

Road Approval

No ABE or German test documents have been provided to us for AGPA243OR. It is therefore sold for motorsport.

Scope of Delivery

A pair of Accossato AGPA243 Organic (OR) front pads, enough for the front caliper.
