DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Triumph Street Triple 660 S is the version of the three-cylinder naked built for riders on a restricted licence, and many of them are newer riders learning the ropes in town and on local roads. For that stage of riding, the Accossato AGPA72 front pad in Organic (OR) compound is a forgiving match. It is listed for the 660 S from 2017 to 2020 and is aimed at owners who want a gentle, progressive lever, quiet running and a disc that lasts.

Key Features

  • Front brake pads for the Triumph Street Triple 660 S, 2017 to 2020
  • AGPA72 shape in Organic (OR) compound, article AGPA72OR
  • Suited to newer riders, commuting and urban use
  • Accossato cites a long working life and low disc wear
  • Two pads per box, one set for one caliper
  • The 660 S has twin front discs, so two boxes cover the front
  • No German ABE; sold for track and competition use

Construction and Material Quality

The OR in the article number stands for Accossato's organic mix, which the maker says keeps performing for longer and holds disc wear down. It is pressed onto the AGPA72 plate, a shape Accossato also lists for several Triumph twins. For a rider still building feel for the front brake, a material that engages progressively rather than grabbing is easy to live with, and the reduced wear on the discs makes sense on a bike that may see many short trips.

Learning the Front Brake

Riders who are new to a naked triple often find the front brake the part that takes longest to trust. Practising controlled stops in an empty car park, squeezing progressively and releasing smoothly, is time well spent, and a compound that responds predictably from cold supports that learning. On the practical side, remember that the 660 S carries a caliper on each side of the front wheel, so both pairs of pads should be changed at the same time. Clean each set of pistons before pressing them back and keep the discs free of grease.

Everyday Care

Look at pad thickness whenever the tyres are checked, and watch the brake fluid in the reservoir: if it turns dark, it is due for renewal. After fitting, pump the lever until the pressure is firm before riding, then bed the pads in with a series of steady stops on a quiet road. A lever that suddenly feels soft or travels further than before is worth investigating straight away.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the AGPA72 for the front of the Triumph Street Triple 660 S from 2017 to 2020, under the name Street Triple S 660. With twin front calipers, order two boxes for a complete front change. At the rear, Accossato lists the AGPP91 pad for the same years, and the DK203 disc is also catalogued for this bike. On the AGPA72 shape the alternatives are ST, EV1 and EV2.

Road Approval

We have not received test documents or a German ABE for this pad and therefore offer it for use in competition.

Scope of Delivery
