DescriptionThe whole story▼

The earlier Triumph Speedmaster, sold as an 800 in 2003 and 2004 and as a 900 from 2005 to 2015, is a laid-back air-cooled cruiser that many owners have kept for years. On a bike of that age, a set of fresh front pads is an easy way to restore a confident, smooth brake. Accossato lists the AGPA72 front pad for these Speedmaster models, and this box holds it in the Organic (OR) compound, suited to relaxed road riding and gentle on the disc.

Key Features

  • Organic (OR) front pads, article AGPA72OR
  • For the Triumph Speedmaster 800 (2003 to 2004) and 900 (2005 to 2015)
  • For relaxed road use on an older cruiser
  • Accossato cites lasting performance and reduced disc wear
  • Two pads per box, one set for one caliper
  • Also available in ST, EV1 and EV2

Construction and Material Quality

The AGPA72 is made in four compounds, and the organic OR is the one for everyday road use. Accossato credits it with performance that holds up over a long service life and with limited disc wear. On an older cruiser, where replacement discs may be harder to find, being gentle on the disc is a real benefit. Organic pads also work well from cold and run quietly.

Refreshing an Older Cruiser

When you replace the pads on a Speedmaster that has seen many seasons, take the chance to look at the whole front brake. Check the disc for minimum thickness and scoring, clean the caliper and pistons carefully, and check that the pads slide freely. Old brake fluid is often dark and should be renewed. After fitting, pump the lever until it is firm and bed in the new pads with a series of gentle stops. The result is often a noticeably smoother, more confident brake.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the AGPA72 for the front brake of the Triumph Speedmaster in two versions: the Speed Master 800 of 2003 and 2004, and the Speedmaster 900 of 2005 to 2015. Please check how many front calipers your bike has; each box equips one. The same period's rear pad is the AGPA76, and for the 1200 cc Speedmaster from 2018, Accossato lists the AGPA29 at the front. The AGPA72 also comes as Sintered, EV1 and EV2.

Road Approval

There is no ABE for this pad, and no road test document is on file. We sell it for track and competition use.
