DescriptionThe whole story▼
Entering a multi-day enduro event on a 200 EXC means the swingarm slider has to hold up across several long days rather than one afternoon, with the chain dragging across it for hours at a stretch over whatever ground each day's route brings. Accossato builds the GPM1 for the 200 EXC from 2012 to 2016, a slider the chain runs over so the swingarm itself does not take that ongoing contact.
Key Features
- Swingarm chain slider for the KTM 200 EXC, 2012 to 2016
- Accossato code GPM1, fitted along the top of the swingarm
- Chain runs across the slider rather than the bare swingarm
- Orange, blue or black
- Also listed for a wide run of Husqvarna four-strokes sharing this swingarm
- Pairs with Accossato's GCM1 chain guide and GSM1 floating slider for this bike
- No German ABE on file; for off-road and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
The GPM1 is shaped to sit flush along the stretch of the 200 EXC's swingarm the chain actually crosses, rather than being cut to a generic length that overhangs either end. Its job is to take the ongoing wear from the moving chain so the swingarm underneath does not have to, and Accossato offers it in orange, blue or black to suit the rest of the bike. A slider that has worn thin in the middle is worth swapping before the chain starts marking the metal beneath it.
Several Long Days Back to Back
A multi-day enduro puts hours of riding into a swingarm slider that a single weekend trail ride never would, since the chain is in constant contact with it for the length of every stage rather than only during the harder sections. Checking the slider each evening, alongside the chain and sprockets, catches wear building up before it becomes a problem partway through the next day's route rather than at camp where there is time to deal with it. Riders entering events that run across several consecutive days often build this check into the same evening routine as cleaning the chain, since both jobs take only a few minutes done together.
Fitment and Compatibility
The GPM1's own fitment years for the 200 EXC run only from 2012 to 2016, a shorter stretch than the guide covers for the same bike, so an owner should not assume one chain part's years apply to the whole range Accossato lists. That shorter window still carries across to the related Husqvarna four-strokes built on the same swingarm. Given how much narrower this fitment is compared with its neighbours in the range, double-checking the frame's actual year is more important here than for some of the other chain parts listed for the 200 EXC, which also include the GCM1 guide, the GSM1 floating slider and either axle block.
Road Approval
Accossato has no German ABE on file for the GPM1, so the slider is intended for off-road and competition riding rather than for use on public roads.
