DescriptionThe whole story▼
Plenty of the good places at the end of a day's riding are reached by a track rather than a road: a farm campsite, a lake with a gravel approach, a forestry lane that saves half an hour of main road. Accossato's Off-road sintered (STMX) compound is built for surfaces of that kind, and this article number puts it on the AGPP91 rear pad of the BMW F 800 GT of 2013 to 2020.
Key Features
- Rear pads in the Off-road sintered (STMX) compound, article number AGPP91STMX
- For the BMW F 800 GT, model years 2013 to 2020
- Accossato's material for riders who leave the asphalt behind
- Made for dust, gravel and loose surfaces rather than for heat
- Two pads in the box, which fills the one rear caliper
- Road-minded alternatives on the same plate: OR and ST
- Front of this bike: AGPA96 across the same years
- No German ABE in our records; competition part
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes this as the mixture for riders who leave the tarmac, and the AGPP91 plate beneath it is the same one used for the road materials; what changes is what has been pressed on. Dirt work is hard on a rear brake in a way that heat is not. Dust and sand find their way between pad and disc and behave like a grinding paste, water crossings cool everything unevenly, and the pedal is used far more often than it would be on the road. A mixture intended for that treatment is a different proposition from one intended for a motorway. Two pads make up a box, which is what the single rear caliper of this bike takes.
Where the Tarmac Runs Out
A sport tourer is not a dirt bike and nobody should pretend otherwise, but an F 800 GT with a sensible rider aboard copes with a couple of unmade miles perfectly well, provided the brakes are up to it. Loose gravel changes how they get used. The pedal takes over much of the work because the front wheel wants to wash out, speed comes off in gentle repeated applications instead of one firm squeeze, and your boot ends up resting on the pedal far longer than it ever would on asphalt. All of that grinds. When the track has been dusty, pad and disc will have swallowed some of it, and the most useful thing you can do at the end of the day is hose the back of the bike down before the dust turns to paste in the next shower. Look at pad thickness more often than the service schedule suggests, because unmade roads consume material at a rate of their own.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPP91 for the rear wheel of the BMW F 800 GT between 2013 and 2020. There is a single caliper back there, so one box does the whole job, and both pads go in together. The plate is also produced in OR and ST form for owners who never leave the asphalt; at the front of the same bike the AGPA96 covers 2013 to 2020, and DK007 is the disc Accossato names for it. If your GT sees a mixture of surfaces, it is worth deciding which of the three suits the bulk of your riding rather than the exception to it.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE for the AGPP91STMX in our files and no approval mark to quote, which is why it is sold for competition and for riding away from public roads.
Scope of Delivery
A single box of two AGPP91 pads in the STMX compound, the set for one rear caliper.
