DescriptionThe whole story▼

The KTM RC 125 is a fully faired sports bike for the A1 licence, styled after KTM's racing machines and often ridden by people who have only just turned sixteen. Many of them come to their first circuit days with a parent, and it is usually the parent who ends up carrying the fuel can. The paddock then becomes a place where two people learn at once. Accossato lists the FC127 for the RC 125 from 2014 to 2021: a quick-release tank cap machined wholly from aluminium, with a pawl whose pin comes in six colours.

Key Features

  • Quick-release fuel tank cap for the KTM RC 125, 2014 to 2021
  • Aluminium body, CNC-machined throughout
  • Quick-closing pawl for quick fills
  • Pin colours: silver, black, red, gold, blue, green
  • Replacement pawl sold separately
  • New design by Accossato
  • No German ABE documented; for track use

Construction and Material Quality

The FC127 is aluminium from top to bottom, shaped by CNC machining, and Accossato calls it robust and durable. Its look is new. A quick-closing pawl does the work of opening and shutting the RC 125's filler, so the tank is uncovered only for as long as the pouring takes. The pin on the pawl carries the colour you pick. And if a young rider tips the bike over in the paddock and damages that pawl, there is no need for a new cap, because Accossato sells the pawl on its own.

The Parent in the Paddock

For a young rider on an RC 125, a circuit day is thrilling and tiring at the same time, and a parent who knows what to do between sessions takes a great deal of pressure off. The jobs are simple once they are shared out. The rider rides, drinks water and listens to the instructor; the parent looks after fuel, tyre pressures and the timetable. Refuelling is the job to do calmly. Wait until the engine has been off for a few minutes, keep the can closed until the moment you pour, and have the bike upright on a stand. Release the pawl, pour slowly through a funnel, close the pawl again and press the cap to be sure it has seated. Over time, hand the job over. By the second or third day, let the rider do the fuel while you watch, because habits learned on a 125 stay with a rider on every bigger bike that follows. A short written checklist in the toolbox helps you both keep to the same order.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato names the FC127 for the RC 125 in every model year from 2014 to 2021, and we list it for that whole span. In our shop the RC 200 and the RC 390 share this cap, as does the 390 Duke. Before ordering, compare your bike with Accossato's list, or send us its model year and we will check it for you.

Road Approval

Neither a German ABE nor a parts certificate has been documented for the FC127, so we sell it for track use. On the road, the RC 125 keeps its original cap, which as a rule locks with the ignition key.
