DescriptionThe whole story▼
When Aprilia created the RS 660, it took an engine derived from the front cylinders of its V4 and wrapped it in a light, sharply styled fairing. Since then the middleweight has become a familiar sight in club racing, where classes for twin-cylinder machines fill their grids quickly and the racing is close. Race weekends are long, and every small job between sessions eats into precious minutes. Accossato's answer for the RS 660 of 2020 to 2025 is the FC101, a quick-release tank cap milled from aluminium with a coloured pawl.
Key Features
- Quick-release tank cap for the Aprilia RS 660, 2020 to 2025
- Listed for the standard model, the Extrema and the Factory
- Body machined from aluminium on CNC machines
- Quick-closing pawl: tank open and shut again in moments
- Six pin colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, gold
- Pawl available separately as a spare
- No German ABE on file; intended for the track
Construction and Material Quality
Cut from aluminium on CNC machines from start to finish, this cap is, as Accossato states, tough and built to last. The design is new. On a race weekend, though, the closure matters most: a pawl that shuts quickly, so the RS 660's tank stands open only as long as it takes to pour. You decide the pawl's colour from six options when ordering, and if it is ever damaged, a replacement can be bought by itself rather than a complete cap.
A Weekend in the Twins Class
A club race meeting often starts with free practice on Friday, moves to qualifying on Saturday and ends with one or two races on Sunday. Each outing raises its own fuel question. In practice you want enough to complete the session without carrying needless weight; in qualifying, some riders run a little lighter; for the race, the tank must last the full distance with a margin. The result is several refuelling stops over the weekend, usually from a can under the awning and often with the clock ticking towards the next call to the holding area. On the RS 660, the FC101 shortens that job: release the pawl, lift the cap, pour, and close it again. Do it with the engine switched off, keep the spout of the can clean and wipe away any drips before the bike goes back onto its tyre warmers.
Fitment and Compatibility
Three versions of the RS 660 carry the FC101 on Accossato's list, together covering 2020 to 2025: the standard model with ABS, the Extrema of 2023 and 2024 and the Factory of 2025. At Inter-Pace the same cap also appears under the Tuono 660 and under two bikes from other makers, the KTM 690 Duke R and the MV Agusta F3 675. Please match your RS 660 against Accossato's application list before ordering.
Road Approval
Neither a German ABE nor a parts certificate is documented for this cap, which limits it to closed circuits. The RS 660 leaves the factory with a filler cap that is normally opened with the ignition key; for road riding, keep that one fitted.
