DescriptionThe whole story▼
The XSR700 wraps the MT-07's twin in retro styling, aimed at riders who want a bike that looks at home outside a vintage motorcycle meet without the running costs of an actually old machine. Those meets often take place on grass fields or in farmyards converted for the day, surfaces that look firm enough until dozens of bikes have parked and churned the ground slightly, leaving soft patches that a side stand can sink into without warning. Accossato lists the PF041 front axle sliders for the XSR700 of 2016 to 2018.
Key Features
- Front axle sliders for the Yamaha XSR700, 2016 to 2018
- Accossato PF041, one protector for each side
- Aluminium and plastic, black finish
- Spacers, screws and remaining mounting parts in the kit, according to Accossato
- Designed to take the first contact if the bike tips over
- Same pair listed for the Yamaha MT-07
- No German ABE on file; for racing and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Both PF041 protectors pair aluminium with plastic and come finished in black, sized for the left and right side of the front wheel. Accossato's own account of the kit lists the spacers, the screws and the remaining fittings it regards as necessary for mounting. Where ground has gone soft and churned at an outdoor bike meet, these sliders are positioned to reach the fork and front axle area's defence first if the XSR700 tips, taking some of what those parts would otherwise suffer. Treat a slider that has ground down this way as finished and fit a replacement.
Soft Ground at a Vintage Bike Meet
A grass field or a farmyard rarely stays firm once a few hundred motorcycles and their riders have walked across it, and a side stand that found solid ground on arrival can sink noticeably by the time an owner returns from looking at other bikes on display. Rain the night before makes this worse, turning a field that looked dry into a patchwork of firm and boggy patches that are hard to tell apart by eye. The XSR700, light enough to manage but still substantial once leaning past a certain point, can tip quietly on ground like this with nobody nearby to catch it. If the bike does go over on soft ground, the sliders take the first contact; check them, the mirror and the lever before riding home.
Fitment and Compatibility
The years that matter for the PF041 on the XSR700 are 2016 to 2018, taken from Accossato's own application list. This same front slider is also listed in our shop for the Yamaha MT-07, since the two bikes share a front end. No other Accossato protection part appears against this model, so if your XSR700 falls outside those years, get in touch before ordering.
Road Approval
We hold no ABE or other test document for the PF041, so it is supplied for racing and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
