DescriptionThe whole story▼

Somewhere a Scrambler Sixty2 has had its mirrors taken off, its lights taped over and a transponder cable-tied to the fork. Small-capacity classes are full of unlikely machines, and the air-cooled twin that Ducati sold from 2016 to 2020 turns out to be a cheap way into a timing screen. Accossato serves that end of the sport with the AGPA92 front pad in EV2 racing trim, article AGPA92EV2, which the company describes without decoration as a racing compound of the highest grade it offers.

Key Features

  • Front pads for the Ducati Scrambler Sixty2, 2016 to 2020
  • AGPA92EV2: the AGPA92 carrier pressed with the EV2 racing material
  • Described by Accossato as a racing compound, with no road claim attached
  • For timed sessions, club events and hard, repeated stops
  • One box feeds the single front caliper of this model
  • OR, ST, EV1 and ZXC exist on the same carrier for other uses
  • Two pads per box, replaced as a pair
  • No German ABE recorded; competition use only

Construction and Material Quality

A racing material is judged on its worst lap rather than its finest one. What Accossato asks of this compound is that the tenth heavy stop should feel like the second, so the rider can put a mark on the tarmac and trust it for the length of a run. Fade is the enemy of that trust, and the firm builds its range around keeping heat inside sensible limits so the friction surface does not start giving away lever travel. The carrier underneath is the usual AGPA92 plate, so a team that has fitted one suffix has fitted them all.

A Timed Run on a Light Machine

Riders who race small twins talk about momentum the way others talk about horsepower. Nothing is gained on the straight, so everything is fought for at the end of it: a marker board, a lean on the lever, a downshift, and the corner taken faster than the bike appears to deserve. The front tyre does almost all of the work in that sequence, and the rider is reading the lever the whole time. A compound that changes its mind halfway through a run costs tenths nobody gets back.

Between outings the routine is short and fixed. Look at the remaining material on both pads, check that they are wearing evenly across their faces, and make sure the rotor is still clean where it counts. Fluid that has been through a hard session deserves a glance too. A spare boxed set in the toolbox is normal practice at this level, since a Scrambler Sixty2 in the paddock can go through a set faster than the same bike does in a year of commuting.

Fitment and Compatibility

The entry covers the front of the Sixty2 for the 2016 to 2020 seasons, the whole life of the model. Accossato lists the AGPP91 for the rear across the same years, and the DK008 turns up in the disc part of the catalogue for this bike. Pads and carriers travel between models that share nothing visually, which is why the article number, and not the model name, is the reliable thing to quote when ordering.

Road Approval

There is no ABE in our records for the AGPA92EV2, and no German test report either. Given what the compound is made for, that is unsurprising: this is a part for the circuit and for organised competition.

Scope of Delivery

One box, two AGPA92 pads in the EV2 racing material, which is the set for one caliper. The front wheel of the Sixty2 needs a single box.
