DescriptionThe whole story▼

Most of a Sunday on a Hyperstrada 939 is not hard riding at all. It is a route chosen the night before, a cafe, a few photographs, and then, somewhere in the last hour, a stretch of road that deserves attention and finally gets it. Accossato's AGPA177 in the EV1 street/track compound is made for riders who want the front brake ready for that hour as well as for everything before it, and the listing covers the Hyperstrada 939 as built from 2016 to 2018.

Key Features

  • Front pads for the Ducati Hyperstrada 939, 2016 to 2018
  • AGPA177 shape in the EV1 street/track compound, article number AGPA177EV1
  • Accossato positions it for road use with amateur circuit work in reserve
  • Two pads per box, one box per front caliper, two calipers on this bike
  • Identical outline to the other materials, so nothing else changes
  • ST, EV2 and ZXC versions listed for the same fitment
  • Rear pad AGPA42 and discs DK053 and DKS053 complete the range for this model
  • No approval document on record; track and competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato calls EV1 street/track a material with strong grip for road riding that also copes with amateur track work, which is a broader brief than most pads are handed. The company's general claim for its friction materials is that they keep their own heat within bounds and therefore fade less, and that is the property the second half of the brief rests on. Underneath, the AGPA177 outline is the same one used for the milder and the harder compounds, so fitting is no different. A box holds two pads, enough for one caliper.

The Last Hour of a Long Sunday

The final good road of a long day is where mistakes tend to happen. Concentration has been wandering for an hour, the rider is warmer and more confident than the tyres are, and the machine has had a lazy afternoon. A Hyperstrada 939 encourages the mood, because the riding position is comfortable enough to hide how quickly it is travelling. The useful discipline is to treat the first few bends as a fresh start: use the front brake firmly and early once or twice to find out what it is doing today, and only then settle into a rhythm. Pads that work as well at the end of a day as at the beginning make that check honest rather than merely reassuring.

Fitment and Compatibility

The AGPA177 covers the front wheel of the Ducati Hyperstrada 939 from 2016 to 2018 in Accossato's data. Two calipers, two boxes, and both sides changed at the same time so that the wheel is braked evenly. The rear of the same bike is served by the AGPA42, while the DK053 and DKS053 are the discs listed for the Hyperstrada 939. This front shape is produced in ST, EV2 and ZXC as well.

Road Approval

No test certificate and no German ABE have been issued to us for the AGPA177EV1. The pad is sold here for track days and competition, and we claim nothing beyond that.

Scope of Delivery

Two AGPA177 pads in the EV1 street/track compound in one box, the set for a single front caliper of the Hyperstrada 939.
