DescriptionThe whole story▼

Take the bags off a Hyperstrada 821 and what is left is a Hypermotard with a screen and a civilised seat: light, narrow, broad across the handlebar and quick to change direction. Owners who ride it that way, and who now and then book an open pit lane to find out how good their favourite road really was, are the audience for Accossato's AGPA177 front pad in the EV1 street/track compound. The listing runs from 2013 to 2016 and takes in the ABS model alongside the standard Hyperstrada 821.

Key Features

  • Front pads for the Ducati Hyperstrada 821, 2013 to 2016, with and without ABS
  • AGPA177 shape in the EV1 street/track compound, article number AGPA177EV1
  • Accossato aims this material at road riding plus amateur circuit use
  • Two pads per box; two boxes fill the bike's twin front calipers
  • Same outline as the other materials in the range, so fitting is unchanged
  • AGPA42 covers the rear wheel, DK053 and DKS053 the front discs
  • ST, EV2 and ZXC versions exist for other kinds of riding
  • No German ABE held; supplied for track and competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato points EV1 street/track at two jobs at once: proper grip in everyday road use, and enough composure for amateur circuit work. That is the maker's own framing and we leave it as we found it. The firm has been building brake components near Turin since 1969, long enough for its catalogue to be organised around shapes rather than one-offs, and the AGPA177 body here is the one used for every material in the family. A box holds two pads, the quantity a single caliper requires.

The Same Bike With the Panniers Off

A Hyperstrada 821 without luggage is a different proposition. The weight is back in the middle of the machine, the suspension has far less to argue with, and the rider starts using the upper half of the rev range and the last part of the lever travel. That is where a dual-purpose material earns its keep: it still works at the modest temperature of a Tuesday commute, yet it does not fold when the same rider spends twenty minutes chasing a faster bike on a closed course. People taking that step for the first time usually discover that they slow far too early and far too softly. The cure is repetition with a brake that behaves predictably, not more force at the lever.

Fitment and Compatibility

The AGPA177 is listed for the front wheel of the Ducati Hyperstrada 821 built between 2013 and 2016, with ABS and without. Two calipers hang on that fork, so a complete change takes two boxes and both sides deserve the same afternoon. Accossato covers the back of the bike with the AGPA42 and offers the DK053 and DKS053 discs should the front pair be near the end of their service life. ST, EV2 and ZXC complete the choice of materials in this shape.

Road Approval

For the AGPA177EV1 we have received no ABE and no comparable German paperwork. Without it the pad cannot be documented for public roads, which is why it appears here under track and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

Two Accossato AGPA177 pads in the EV1 street/track compound, one box, sufficient for a single front caliper of the Hyperstrada 821.
