DescriptionThe whole story▼

Long journeys on a BMW R 1250 GS Adventure are not all open road. Border crossings, toll plazas, roadworks and the traffic of cities on the way through turn a travel day into long stretches of stop, roll and stop again, often in the heat and with a fully loaded bike. For the left hand, those hours are the hardest part of the day. Accossato's answer is the ESC075, a machined aluminium clutch lever for the R 1250 GS Adventure of 2019 whose distance from the grip can be adjusted.

Key Features

  • Clutch lever for the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure, model year 2019
  • Replaces the original lever at the BMW clutch mounting
  • Adjustable reach to the grip
  • Standard blade in every colour; short in blue, gold, green; long in blue, green, orange
  • CNC-machined from solid aluminium, anodised
  • Hub in black, blade in one of seven colours
  • Rigid design without a folding joint
  • No German ABE documented; sold for track use

Construction and Material Quality

From a solid aluminium blank, Accossato machines the ESC075 on CNC equipment and anodises the result. Black is reserved for the hub, which holds the pivot and the reach adjuster; the blade carries the colour you choose. The lever has no hinge, so the path from your fingers to the clutch is a single piece of metal. On the R 1250 GS Adventure, the anodised finish is a practical choice: it is hard-wearing and keeps its colour in dust and rain without the chipping that painted parts can suffer.

Borders, Tolls and Queues

A queue at a border or a toll plaza is a slow procession: clutch in, roll a few metres, stop, foot down, wait, repeat. Over an hour of it, the left hand pulls the lever more often than on a whole day of open road, often while heat from the engine and the sun makes gloves damp and fingers tired. Two adjustments make a real difference on the R 1250 GS Adventure. First, set the reach so the lever sits within easy range of your fingers, which reduces the stretch on every pull. Second, think about length. A long blade, made in blue, green and orange, puts your fingers further from the pivot and gives more leverage, so each pull needs less force, and over a long queue that adds up.

Riders who hold the clutch with two fingers can choose the short blade, available in blue, gold and green, and keep the rest of the hand on the grip. Black, red and silver are offered in the standard length only.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the ESC075 for the R 1250 GS Adventure of 2019, and for no later years. The EDB077 brake lever is listed for the same bikes, so both sides of the bar can wear the same colour. The standard R 1250 GS is covered by separate products.

Road Approval

Our listing is for track use, since a German ABE is not documented for the ESC075.
