DescriptionThe whole story▼

Triumph named the Thruxton after the Thruxton 500, a production-bike endurance race in which its twins competed in the 1960s, and the modern Thruxton 1200 keeps the theme alive with clip-on bars and a café racer riding position. For this bike Accossato lists the EDF014, a CNC-machined aluminium brake lever for the 2020 model year, fitted to the original master cylinder and adjustable for reach.

Key Features

  • Brake lever for the Triumph Thruxton 1200, model year 2020
  • Mounted on the original master cylinder
  • Reach to the grip adjustable
  • Anodised, CNC-machined aluminium
  • Black hub; blade in silver, black, gold, red, blue, green or orange
  • Standard approximately 138 mm; short and long in selected colours
  • Fixed lever with no folding joint
  • In its own Accossato box

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato itself began in 1969 in Moncalieri, near Turin, as a maker of competition motorcycles. Its EDF014 lever is cut from aluminium by CNC machining and then anodised in two tones: the hub, with pivot and reach adjuster, always black, the blade in whichever of the seven colours you pick. Nothing is hinged; hub and blade form one fixed piece. On a café racer, where the view from the saddle is mostly tank, clocks and clip-ons, a machined two-tone lever is one of the details you see every time you ride.

A Single Lever, Chosen to Match

Accossato's list includes no clutch lever for the Thruxton 1200, so the EDF014 will sit opposite the original clutch lever. That makes the choice of finish more interesting than usual. If you want the change to look as if it came from the factory, start by looking at the original clutch lever: next to a dark lever, a black blade on the black hub is the most discreet choice, while silver sits closest to a bright or polished one. If you would rather make the brake lever a deliberate accent, gold or red can pick up details elsewhere on the bike, and the difference between the two sides then looks intended rather than accidental. Length matters too. The standard blade is closest to a conventional lever and is made in all seven colours; the short blade, in silver, blue, gold, green and orange, stops well short of the bar end and suits riders who brake with two fingers from the Thruxton 1200's clip-ons. Whatever you choose, set the reach while sitting in your riding position.

Fitment and Compatibility

Only the 2020 model year of the Thruxton 1200 is on Accossato's list for the EDF014, which mounts on the original master cylinder. Other years of the bike are not listed for this lever, so check the model year in your vehicle documents before ordering. No Accossato clutch lever is listed for the Thruxton 1200.

Road Approval

The EDF014 is sold for track use only; a German ABE for it has not been documented.
