DescriptionThe whole story▼
The CB300F is the naked sister of Honda's CBR300R: the same single-cylinder engine, a flat handlebar and no fairing. It was built as a light, approachable motorcycle and came in two forms, the F and the FA, the latter fitted with ABS. That difference matters most to the hand on the brake lever. Accossato's EDF025 is an aluminium lever for the original master cylinder of the CB300F, shaped on CNC machines, adjustable in reach and listed here for 2015 to 2018.
Key Features
- Brake lever for the Honda CB300F and CB300FA, 2015 to 2018
- Fits the original master cylinder
- Distance to the grip set by an adjuster near the pivot
- Short, standard (roughly 138 mm) and long blades, by colour
- CNC-machined, anodised aluminium
- Hub always black, blade in one of seven colours
- Fixed blade with no hinge
- No German ABE documented; track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato also makes brake discs, and what it knows about them comes from Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3, the last of these a class of small single-cylinder racing machines. The EDF025 itself is machined from aluminium on CNC equipment and anodised. Its black hub carries the pivot and the reach adjuster, and its blade takes the colour you order. There is no folding joint anywhere in it. The lever is one rigid piece, so nothing absorbs or blurs the small changes in pressure that fine braking on a light bike like the CB300F depends on.
With ABS or Without
On the FA, an anti-lock system watches the front wheel and releases pressure if it starts to lock. On the F, that job belongs to your fingers. Either way, good braking begins the same way: a quick, light first squeeze that loads the front tyre, then a firmer, progressive build-up as the fork compresses. Grabbing the lever hard from the start is what locks the front wheel of a bike without ABS, and what makes the system on the FA work harder than it needs to. The difference lies in the margin for error. Riders of the F should practise on a dry, empty car park, building up gradually until they know how the lever feels just short of the limit. Riders of the FA should do the same, so they recognise the pulsing at the lever when the system steps in instead of letting go in surprise. Both depend on a blade the fingers can control precisely, and on a light bike such as the CB300F, a lever brought close to the grip makes that fine control easier.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF025 for both versions of this Honda, the F and the FA, and the lever fits the original master cylinder of each. We offer it for the CB300F in the model years 2015 to 2018. For the left side, the ESH250 clutch lever is listed for the same bikes and years. Black and red blades are made in the standard length only, silver in standard and short, and blue, gold, green and orange in all three.
Road Approval
For the EDF025, no German ABE is documented. It is sold for the track.
