DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Scrambler Sixty2 took its name from 1962, the year Ducati's original Scrambler appeared, and it gave the family a smaller engine that suits riders on an A2 licence. For many of them it is the first motorcycle of real size, and the lever that works its front brake should fit the hand that uses it. The Accossato EDB012 is a CNC-machined brake lever for the Sixty2 from 2016 to 2021, fitted to the original master cylinder and adjustable in its distance to the grip.
Key Features
- Brake lever for the Scrambler Sixty2, 2016 to 2021
- Mounts on the original master cylinder
- Reach adjustable, so the blade can come closer for smaller hands
- Standard blade approximately 138 mm in every colour
- Short blade in blue, gold, green, orange and silver; long blade in blue, gold, green and orange
- Machined aluminium, anodised, with black hub
- Fixed design with no folding joint
- Track use: no German ABE is documented
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato produces the EDB012 by CNC machining from solid aluminium, followed by anodising in two tones: a black hub and a coloured blade. There is no hinge in the lever; it is a single rigid part. That matters on the Scrambler Sixty2 for a simple reason: a new rider learning to brake hard needs the lever to respond the same way every time, and a one-piece blade gives that consistency.
Smaller Hands on the Brake
A lever that stands far from the grip makes a small hand work harder in two ways: the fingers have to open wide before they reach the blade, and the pull begins with the fingertips rather than the stronger middle of the fingers. Bringing the EDB012 closer solves both. Set it so that, with the hand resting on the grip, the first finger joints touch the blade. Riders who brake with two fingers can choose the short blade; for a full-hand grip, the standard length gives more leverage. New riders in particular benefit from a lever they can reach without thinking, because hard stops are rarely well practised in the first season. An empty car park and a series of controlled stops from moderate speed are the right way to get to know the new setting on the Sixty2.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDB012 for the Scrambler Sixty2 from 2016 to 2021, under its Scrambler 400 Sixty2 reference. It replaces the original lever on the standard master cylinder. Accossato's clutch lever for the same Sixty2 years is the ESC012, offered in the same seven colours but with fewer short and long versions.
Road Approval
German road approval in the form of an ABE is not documented for the EDB012, and it is sold for track use.
