DescriptionThe whole story▼
Born from over a decade of MotoGP development alongside riders like Andrea Dovizioso, Jorge Martin and Jack Miller, the Alpinestars Supertech R10 Solid in Gloss White is a full-face racing helmet that delivers FIM-certified protection, CFD-refined aerodynamics and a featherlight carbon shell — equally at home on the pit lane and the Sunday road ride.
Key Features
- Multi-composite carbon shell combining 3K carbon, UD carbon, aramid fibre and fibreglass for exceptional impact absorption at approximately 1,540 g (size M)
- Triple homologation — ECE 22.06, DOT and FIM — with claimed 37% greater linear impact protection and 65% higher rotational force resistance versus previous-generation benchmarks
- Eleven-vent ventilation system with 7 intakes (3 chin, 4 crown) and 4 exhaust ports, developed to maintain airflow at race speeds
- Optical Class 1 visor (3 mm) with 220° horizontal and 57° vertical field of view, anti-scratch coating and tool-less quick-release mechanism; Pinlock 120XLT compatible
- Two interchangeable spoilers included — Road and Race — shaped using CFD simulation and wind tunnel validation to reduce neck load and buffeting at high speed
- Eight-piece multi-density EPS liner with six foam densities; low-friction outer surface to manage rotational forces; moisture-wicking, antibacterial, removable and washable interior
- Emergency cheek-pad removal system designed for rapid helmet extraction by first responders
Race-Bred Construction
The Supertech R10's shell is not a single-material monocoque — it is a carefully layered carbon-multi-composite architecture. 3K woven carbon and unidirectional carbon handle primary structural loads, while aramid reinforcement manages penetration resistance and fibreglass layers tune flex characteristics. The result is a shell that passes FIM homologation — the strictest standard applied in Grand Prix motorcycle racing — while remaining accessible to road riders who demand the same margin of safety.
Inside, the eight-segment EPS liner uses six distinct foam densities mapped to the zones most likely to experience impact energy. A low-friction coating on the EPS surface is engineered to reduce the rotational acceleration transmitted to the brain during angled impacts, addressing one of the key injury mechanisms that modern helmet research has identified.
Aerodynamics & Ventilation
CFD simulation and physical wind tunnel testing shaped every external surface of the Supertech R10. Dedicated side turbulators and aero winglets stabilise airflow at high speed, reducing the neck fatigue that accumulates over a track day or long motorway stint. Switching between the included Road and Race spoilers lets you tune the aerodynamic balance to suit your riding environment without any additional purchase.
The eleven-vent system is arranged so that intake air channels across the EPS liner and exits through the rear exhaust ports in a continuous stream. Anti-fogging ventilation is integrated into the design to keep the optical field clear regardless of ambient temperature or rider exertion.
Visor System
The 3 mm Optical Class 1 visor meets the most demanding clarity standard available, minimising distortion across its 220° lateral sweep. The tool-less quick-release system allows a complete visor swap in seconds — critical during a race weekend when conditions change between sessions. The visor is Pinlock 120XLT compatible, and a Pinlock insert is included in the box alongside the clear visor and a tinted visor, giving you immediate options for varying light conditions.
Sizing Guide
Measure your head circumference at its widest point, just above the eyebrows, and match it to the table below. Cheek pads are available in multiple thicknesses for a personalised fit. Note that the Supertech R10 uses a race fit — it sits close and firm; riders who require space for spectacles should assess fit carefully before purchase.
| Size | Head Circumference (cm) |
|---|---|
| XS | 53–54 cm |
| S | 55–56 cm |
| M | 57–58 cm |
| L | 59–60 cm |

“Technically the most complete helmet on this page: six shell sizes, ECE plus DOT plus FIM, and a shell Alpinestars says exceeds the standard by 37 per cent. It sits mid-table only because it is the most expensive here and 1,540 g is no featherweight.”
— the Inter-Pace crewECE 22.06, DOT and FIM together — three standards.
Six shell sizes, EQRS and a shell that beats ECE by 37 %.
Eleven ports; the crown vent works with gloves on.
A decade of MotoGP development behind the shape.
1,540 g — heavy for a carbon race helmet.
Average; this is a track helmet, not a tourer.
Firm rather than plush — built to stay put, not to cosset.
Six shell sizes: nobody in this field fits better.
Unmistakably a racing helmet, top to bottom.
