DescriptionThe whole story▼

Vibetrack layers a dense field of angular red, navy-blue and white stripes over the carbon shell, with the SHARK wordmark worked directly into the pattern low on the shell rather than sitting apart from it — the busiest, most motorsport-livery-styled graphic in this carbon line short of the Zarco replica. It is a glossy finish, and unlike the two Raceblock colourways this decor does have manufacturer photography confirming the layout described here. Among the nine decors in this carbon line, Vibetrack is the one that leans hardest into a motorsport-livery look, closer in spirit to a factory racing paint job than to a standalone graphic design.

The gloss finish

A glossy clear coat sits over the dense striped graphic, keeping the many thin lines crisp and high-contrast rather than letting them soften the way a matte coat can with fine detail. The visible carbon weave shows through in the unpatterned sections of the shell. The dense striping means very little of the bare carbon weave is left exposed on this decor compared with the plainer Carbon Skin colourways earlier in this line, where the weave itself is the entire graphic.

About the Vibetrack name

Vibetrack is sold in two colour codes in this carbon line — this red-accented version and a green-accented sibling (HE8168DGU) documented separately below — both glossy, following the same two-colour-code-of-one-finish pattern as the Raceblock decors rather than a glossy/matte pairing. Vibetrack follows the same one-finish, two-colour-code pattern as Raceblock elsewhere in this line, rather than the glossy/matte pairing used for Carbon Skin and Shiever — worth knowing if a matte Vibetrack is what a buyer expects to find.

ECE 22.06 under the stripes

Vibetrack's red colour code meets ECE 22.06 like every helmet in this range, the standard that has governed new EU homologations since January 2024. The test moved from five impact points at a single speed to eighteen across several, added an oblique strike against a rough anvil to twist rather than merely compress the shell, and for the first time records a rotational Brain Injury Criterion figure. This article's Norme field reads 2206, a road certificate only.

Carbon's real contribution here

Underneath the striped graphic sits the standard carbon Spartan RS shell, 1455 g at the first shell size per Shark's own figure. Set beside the fibre version of this helmet, the certification, the Double-D buckle, the EPS density count and the VZ300 visor are identical — carbon changes the number on the scale and the texture beneath the paint, not the level of protection.

What the number on the box means

Shark quotes 1455 g at the smallest shell size for this decor; a carbon test unit weighed independently for this range came out at 1485 g. Either figure describes weight the neck alone supports, continuously, through the accelerations and corrections of an ordinary ride rather than a number that only matters sitting on a shelf.

Airflow under the busy graphic

The paint pattern does not touch the vent geometry: this shell scored 3 out of 5 in independent ventilation testing, strong from the chin vent while leaning forward, weaker in sustained heat, with the top vent rated merely sufficient. Riders who do most of their riding in hot climates should weigh that limitation against the striking graphic before choosing this decor over the better-ventilated alternatives elsewhere in Shark's range.

Sun visor and the VZ300 outer shield

An internal sun visor drops down on demand, and the VZ300 outer visor it sits behind is optical class 1, 2.8 mm to 2.2 mm thick, anchored at four points with a central lock, anti-scratch coated, and pre-loaded with a clear Pinlock 120 insert.

Included kit

A carrying bag, reflective bands and the ready-fitted Pinlock 120 Max Vision insert are standard across this carbon line per independently reviewed decors, alongside a 5-year warranty, tool-free visor removal and a chin flap that unclips when not wanted.

Space for a comms unit

The cheek pad conceals a recess built for Shark's Sharktooth intercom or a SENA For SHARK unit, fitting flush rather than bolted externally — unchanged across the whole Spartan RS Carbon range. This mounting point is unaffected by which of the two Vibetrack colour codes a rider chooses.

Sizing and shell count

Two shell sizes span the XS-to-XXL run, matching the rest of the carbon range. The brushed suede-effect Alveotech lining and a close-fitting neck roll for wind isolation carry over from every other decor in this line, unaffected by the busy graphic here.

Wind noise, as reported

No dB figure is published by the manufacturer for any decor in this carbon range. Independent testers scored the shell 4 out of 5 on noise, noting light buffeting at motorway speeds and reasonable ambient awareness around town — a subjective score, stated as such. The busy graphic has no bearing on how the helmet sounds at speed.

Replacement visors

This decor draws on the same VZ300 spare-visor stock Shark maintains for the fibre Spartan RS and the Spartan GT Pro Carbon, so a worn visor is resolved from a shared parts pool rather than a decor-specific one. The same pool covers the green-coded Vibetrack sibling and both Raceblock colourways, so parts availability is not a reason to prefer one decor over another in this line.

Where this sits in Shark's own range

This decor is priced at 459.99 EUR before any storewide discount. Set against Shark's own current 2027 lineup rather than a competitor's:

Line UVP range Shell
Spartan RS Fibre 359.99 - 389.99 EUR Multiaxial composite fibre
OXO 349.99 - 459.99 EUR Thermoplastic modular
Spartan RS Carbon (this decor: 459.99 EUR) 429.99 - 529.99 EUR Carbon, VZ300 visor shared with Fibre
Spartan GT Pro 499.99 EUR Thermoplastic
Spartan GT Pro Carbon 549.99 - 629.99 EUR Carbon, also shares the VZ300 visor

Limitations, honestly

The dense striped graphic will not suit every rider or bike colour the way the plainer Carbon Skin decors do — a deliberate stylistic choice, not a flaw. The shared carbon shell's 3.0-out-of-5 ventilation score and the reported early Pinlock-fitting issue apply here as elsewhere in this line. This decor is priced identically to its green-coded Vibetrack sibling and to both Raceblock colourways, 459.99 EUR — one of four decors in this line sharing that exact price point.
